Ducati

history

In 1996/1997 it all started with this sidecar:

As Tschumi insists he "only" can drive Ducati and as he wanted a sidecar, he had to build his own out of a 1982 Solo Ducati.

He even was in America/Canada in 1998 with the sidecar.

In 2006 he found a licensed Ducati sidecar from 1975 on the internet - in parts and without engine. He appreciated this, as he already had an engine. During restoration he realised, that the frame and the rocker where bent and he had to replace both.

During winter 2007 he finished this project - but with the next one in his mind...

With this foto (1973) of Roberto Pedrini/ Alessandro Mignani the idea grew to race a racing sidecar with a Ducati engine.

The birth of the kneeler...

After nearly one year of planning (which took place only in his head as "writing it down" is for little kids…) and preparation of parts, he started with cuting, welding and bending … everything matching to the technical standard of 1975, with the same geometrie of a vintage street sidecar, but with less gauge.

In early September 2008 we finally had the first "rehearsal" with our nice, new/old toy.

After a successful first season (completed without technical problems!) in which we met both: new people and circuits - we can't live without racing any more. This is the reason for this website, that everyone who`s interessed can have a look at our latest news (avoids annoying emails for those not interested).

So we see you at the start ...
